About the event
Join artists Lissy and Rudi Robinson-Cole for a special Whare Kōhanga Wānanga designed for Māori rangatahi aged 35 and under, including hāpū māmā and expectant pāpā.
Drawing on the kaupapa of Wharenui Harikoa and ongoing Whare Kōhanga research, this wānanga explores what it means to create spaces where people feel nurtured, connected, and empowered to dream for themselves, their whānau, and future generations.
Together we will explore the idea of Whare Kōhanga as more than a physical place. Through kōrero, creativity, and collective making, we will reflect on the importance of whānau, whakapapa, birth, wellbeing, and the futures we hope to create for our tamariki.
Participants will be introduced to crochet as a tool for connection and storytelling, learning simple techniques while contributing to a shared creative experience. No previous crochet experience is required.
This is an opportunity to slow down, connect with others, share stories, and be part of…
